Taking Videos in VR Headsets

Standard Settings #

PICO Neo 3 Headset:

  1. Taking a Video: Hold down the power button on your PICO controller for a few seconds. A red recording icon in the top right corner of your vision indicates recording has started.
  2. Stopping the Video: Press the power button again to stop recording.

PICO 4 Headset:

  1. Taking a Video: While in VR, Press and hold the “Screenshot” button on the right controller (Raised button on right side of controller) until “Recording” appears in a window and a red icon flashes in the upper right.
  2. Stopping the Video: Press and hold the “Screenshot” button until “Recording Saved” appears in a window and the red light disappears from the upper right view.

Meta Quest Headset:

  1. Opening the Menu: Press the Menu button (the button with three horizontal lines) on your right Touch controller.
  2. Accessing Sharing Options: In the universal menu, locate the sharing icon (it might resemble a cast symbol).
  3. Starting Recording: Choose “Record Video” to initiate recording.
  4. Stopping the Video: Press the Menu button again to bring up the options menu and select “Stop Recording.”

Enterprise Settings #

PICO Headset:

  • Enterprise administrators might restrict access to the recording function through the PICO Business Suite software.
    • Alternative: Inquire with your IT department about any alternative recording methods available within custom VR applications used in your company.

Meta Quest Headset:

  • Meta for Business, used to manage Quest headsets in enterprises, might restrict access to the sharing menu or recording functionalities within apps.
    • Alternatives:
      • Consult your IT department for guidance on recording procedures within your organization.
      • Explore the possibility of using external capture tools connected to the computer running the VR experience (depending on your company’s setup).
