Option 1: Cast to Browser/Computer #
- Put on your Meta Quest headset
- Press the Meta button on your right Touch controller to open the universal menu
- Select ‘Sharing’ (monitor icon) from the quick settings panel
- Select ‘Cast’
- In the casting menu, select ‘Computer’
- On your computer, open a web browser and navigate to oculus.com/casting
- Log in with your Meta/Facebook account
- Click ‘Start Casting’ when prompted
- Accept the casting prompt in your headset
Important Notes:
- Your Meta Quest and computer must be on the same WiFi network
- Use a strong, stable WiFi connection for best performance
- Supported browsers: Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox
- Make sure you’re logged into the same Meta account on both devices
To Stop Casting:
- Open the universal menu in your headset
- Select ‘Sharing’
- Select ‘Stop Casting’
- Alternatively, click ‘Stop Casting’ on the browser window
Option 2: Cast to TV/Chromecast #
Initial Setup
- Ensure your TV has a compatible Chromecast device or built-in Chromecast
- Make sure your Chromecast is set up and connected to the same WiFi network as your Quest
Casting Steps
- Press the Meta button on your right Touch controller
- Select ‘Sharing’ from the quick settings
- Select ‘Cast’
- Choose your Chromecast device from the list of available devices
- Accept the casting confirmation in your headset
Cast to Mobile Device
You can also cast to the Meta Quest mobile app:
- Open the Meta Quest app on your phone
- Tap the casting icon in the top right
- Select your headset
- Accept the casting prompt in your headset
Option 3: Cast through ArborXR #
When your Meta Quest is managed by ArborXR:
- In ArborXR Kiosk Mode:
- Navigate to the side menu
- Locate and click the “TV” or Cast icon
- Select “Cast to Browser” from the casting options
- For Browser Casting:
- Note the displayed IP address
- Enter this IP address in your web browser
- Ensure your Quest and the computer are on the same WiFi network
- Click “Start Screencast” on the welcome page
- Return to ArborXR Kiosk mode using the back arrow
- Select “Continue” to return to ArborXR Kiosk window
- To Stop ArborXR Casting:
- Return to the Cast menu
- Select “End” on the right side of the window
- ArborXR-Specific Notes:
- The device name shown in the lower left is auto-generated
- This name is separate from your standard device naming schema
- Ensure stable WiFi connection for optimal streaming
- Both devices must remain on the same network throughout casting
ArborXR Best Practices
- Verify ArborXR permissions are properly configured
- Check network stability before initiating cast
- Keep headset charged above 50% for stable casting
- Monitor WiFi signal strength throughout session
- Close unnecessary background applications

Common Issues
- Cast Not Working:
- Verify all devices are on the same WiFi network
- Check your WiFi signal strength
- Restart your headset and casting device

- Poor Quality:
- Move closer to your WiFi router

- Consider using a 5GHz WiFi network if available
