PureCars Virtual Reality cultivates empathy and understanding of the car buying process from the customer’s point of view.
PureCars has changed the traditional way car dealerships market to their customers. What used to be an in-person shopping experience has drastically transitioned to a digitally flooded landscape, and those who don’t keep up are missing out. But how could PureCars put their customers in the shoes of their buyers? How could they show each dealer that the inspiration for a car purchase can come from a micro-moment, and when it strikes, their customer is turning to their smartphone, tablet or computer first? The situational immersion of virtual reality technology fit that need, and now car dealers understand the customer thought process more clearly.
Smartphone App
The smartphone app is compatible with or without a virtual reality cardboard viewer. The app was developed for iOS and Android platforms to expand accessibility for Purecars’ target market. The app was paired with branded cardboard viewers on-site and in a direct mail campaign.
360° Synthetic Video
The Purecars project was a fully synthetic 360° experience. Unlike traditional 360° filming, the entire video was computer generated, animated, and edited. Click here to view the 360° video.
The Results
We successfully created an immersive experience that was accessible on iOS and Android, YouTube, Facebook, Gear VR, and other 360 ° viewers. The innovative approach to telling PureCars’ story increased conversion rates to nearly 4x the industry average. The experience captured the feelings of micro-moments, creating empathy and showing inspirations that initiate the car buying process, making this campaign a success.
